“Down Temple Dub: Waves” by Desert Dwellers is recommended by Barbara (Bobbie) Purvis.
I first encountered this form of music on a DVD produced by Duncan Wong – Yogic Arts: Awakening Level. The music was so compelling that I ordered it the very next day.
This is the perfect music to play in the background for more active practices like stance training. The body is more forgiving when there’s amazing music to focus on rather than the discomfort of holding a posture.
There are a number of CDs in the series, but Waves is my favorite. Each track is a unique, distinctive compilation with unifying elements and those that change throughout, so when listening to the brief sample provided miss many of the elements that make this music special. One of my favorite tracks is Om Namo Bhagavate.
Other titles in the series of CDs include: Flames, Roots, Anahata Yoga Dub, Muladhara Yoga Dub, Remixes, and Lost Mixes.

For those that like dub music and its transcendental waves of elongated sound waves, here’s a CD for you. Call it new age or new wave or world music, but the conscious spirit digs musical mediums for its endless need to express itself…. [A]…modern adaptation of some very beautiful traditional ethnic instruments. Good music for meditation, contemplation, or simple relaxation! Namaste’ ya’ll
